Wahoo are a fish with a mild and sweet taste. Fresh wahoo has a meaty and firm texture and is a lean protein. You can order wahoo steaks in 6oz, 8oz, or 10oz portions.
Wahoo are a large fish that live in tropical or subtropical waters all around the world. You will feel just like a Floridian grilling your fresh wahoo in the sun. You should grill your wahoo for 3 minutes a side on high heat, but we also recommend using a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Wahoo should be cooked to 145 degrees. Being steaky and mild makes wahoo perfect for picky eaters since some people say that after grilling it tastes just like chicken or even veal.
Not only is grilled wahoo a delicious option for any meal, it is nutritious as well. Wahoo has a healthy dose of protein and essential nutrients like niacin and other B vitamins, phosphorus, and selenium. This fish is also a good source of omega-3s including DHA and EPA.
We hope that you get creative with cooking your wahoo and experiment with some different cooking methods or seasonings. If you do, we would appreciate it if you shared your artistic creation with us on our Facebook or Instagram. Seeing how our customers prepare our fish is one of our absolute favorite things.
We will ship your package via FedEx Overnight. Your package will arrive to you the next day once it is shipped. We do not ship across weekends or holidays because shipping time extends past the effectiveness of the Gel Packs.
We are unable to ship to PO boxes or FPO or APO addresses. Currently we are able to ship only to continental US addresses.
Storing your Fresh Catch product:
Fresh seafood should be transferred to a refrigerated environment upon receiving and consumed or frozen within 2-3 days. Any seafood received frozen should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.
Best Practices For Thawing Seafood:
The best way to thaw frozen seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it under cool running water for around thirty minutes to an hour.
